From the Editor of the Thoroughbred,
When I was writing the stories dealing with the mass Squadron changes of command and the Regimental Commander’s Change of Command in a subsequent ceremony, I took the information dealing with the 30th Regimental CSM from the Vilseck program.
It was therefore a surprise to me today (October 16) when I re-read the program and learned that CSM Martin S. Celestine had an “Interim” next to his name. Fortunately the paper edition of The Thoroughbred had not gone to print so that will be correct when it is mailed. However, I did send out the wrong information on the electronic edition.
If you check the Regimental Website, you will see the picture of Command Sergeant Major Shane E. Pospisil (below). You will also see a story addressing the October 7, 2014 welcome ceremony for the 30th Regimental CSM.

CSM Pospisil

CSM Pospisil arrived with his wife Teri, son Jake and daughter Shayna from his previous assignment as CSM 1st Squadron (Airborne) 40th Cavalry Regiment, a unit of the 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne) 25th Infantry Division in Fort Richardson, Alaska. As of today we did not have the new RCSM’s biography. An update will be included in both the electronic and paper Spring 2015 Thoroughbred. CSM Pospisil is a graduate of Airborne and Ranger courses, and has been awarded the Combat Infantryman’s badge; a sign of a true “Dragoon.”
The Association also welcomes the selection of CSM Pospisil to the position as senior enlisted advisor to the Regiment. As someone who also wore the crest with “By Force and Valor” from Berlin days during the Cold War, I am most embarrassed by this error on my part.
On behalf of the Association I would also like to wish CSM Celestine best wishes on his re-assignment from the Regiment.
