Dragoons, as many of you know the Regiment’s Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) Memorial in Vilseck, Germany was destroyed in an unprecedented wind storm. The violent storm caused damage to multiple buildings and vehicles in Vilseck, as well as blowing the memorial from its mount, shattering it irreparably. It is indeed unfortunate and saddening as it captured the Regiment’s sacrifice through multiple combat tours in the Middle East. It is our responsibility to Remember our Regiment’s Fallen by rebuilding this memorial.
It is in the same spirit that the Association has created an account to raise funds to replace the memorial honoring our Regiment’s losses in the Global War on Terrorism, and additionally establish a memorial that will honor each of our fallen troopers since 1836.
A committee has been established to determine the specifics, create timeline and develop milestones. The immediate goal is to replace the GWOT memorial before the Association’s trip to Vilseck in July 2019.
This is a tremendous undertaking and will require your support and more importantly your contribution. Please spread the word and donate to this common cause.
